Spindle is a fast growing and colourful native shrub. It is perfect for mixed country hedging and has tiny green flowers in spring, which ripen into pink seeds. It will grow happily in most soils especially chalk. It should not be planted in a windy situation. For best results spindle hedging should be planted at 3 plants per metre.
