The Sweet Briar rose is a bushy and vigorous native country hedging rose. It is deciduous and grows into an impenetrable hedge of thorny stems. It produces delicate pink flowers in summer and the deciduous foliage is medium green. It will grow happily in any well drained soil and tolerates both chalk and sandy conditions.
